Wesfarmers is a step closer to snaring target Australian Pharmaceutical Industries after rival suitor Sigma Healthcare dropped its proposal to merge with the owner of the Priceline Pharmacy chain. The decision Friday to not move ahead with hits heavy script deal follows the non-binding proposal lobbed by Sigma on September 27 to merge with its main rival.
